A Texas-Based K9 Rescue
Last week, we were looking for a foster for our senior shepherd Xena as her foster mom was leaving for holidays. But Xena had stolen her heart so fast, that she arranged to include Xena in her holiday plan so that she would not have to return to boarding anymore.
In the meantime, our transport coordinator Darlene showed her pictures and video to Pilot n Paws volunteer Tony, who donates his time and plane to transport rescue pups to safety by air. Tony and his family have been looking for a senior shepherd since the passing of their senior baby, and Xena turned out to be the perfect match.
Overnight, their application was processed, health certificate done, flights coordinated and Xena's dad and sister flew in from Minnesota to take her to her forever home where the rest of their family were anxiously waiting to welcome her.
We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift!!!!
Thank you everyone who helped Xena travel from deathrow to paradise, from being abandoned by her previous owners after years of loyalty to being found by the perfect family that she so deserved. Despite everything she endured, Xena taught us how to enjoy each minute of life, without complaining. We are so excited to have been a part of her journey and to be able to watch her blossom into a super sweet, playful puppy. Happy Tails, Xena! We love you. ❤️
To make this an even more of an uplifting news, Xena's spot in her foster home went to Gary, the 5 year old adorable bully who desperately needed a home this holiday. While Xena would keep chasing her foster mom's cat, Gary has always lived with cats and leaves them alone. There are many dogs in Houston looking for a safe haven.

Adopt, Don't shop
We could help Jax because Jacob and Carrie stepped up to save his life. In a month, they fell in love with him and adopted him.
There are several needy pets in the shelter, who need a chance to be saved.
5 year old boxer SALLY was dumped in the shelter with her puppies. Sally was a great mom, taking good care of her babies, fattening them up, and being protective.
Sally's babies are now weaned, and Sally has been spayed. She is ready for her forever home.
She is a calm, well-mannered girl, who will do good in a calm home, where she can be a forever companion to her human, and protect them, and love them.
To meet with this sweet, sweet girl, please send us an adoption application.
