A Texas-Based K9 Rescue
Puppy Enzo was being fostered through Montgomery county animal shelter by an independent rescuer. But he was getting sick, so they reached out to Save Some Souls to help him, instead of taking him back to the shelter.
Last Saturday Enzo went to a vet near the foster's home, after he started having bloody diarrhea.
The vet concluded that he had giardiasis and he was sent home with medicine.
We thought he would get back to normal with the treatment.
But this Friday, Enzo suddenly fell while trying to walk.
The foster took him to our regular vet, who immediately ran a blood panel and found him severely anemic,
hypoglycemic, very low in protein, positive for coccidia and positive for parvo.
The vet started his treatment to stabilize him. He went from 5.3 lbs to 4 lbs in less than a week
and has a long way to go. Very luckily he tested negative for parvo this morning, but he has to
retest in a couple days to make sure it was indeed false positive.
He is safe in foster home, but he will need continuous treatment to get back to normal and become a healthy,
happy puppy who deserves to be loved and spoiled.
If you would like to help cover some of his vetting, please donate via https://savesomesouls.com/donate
or www.Paypal.me/savesomesouls or venmo @savesomesouls and include it is for Enzo.
That will be very helpful and we can continue to treat him without having to worry about funds.
Update : Sweet Enzo passed away Tuesday morning, he suffered a cardiac arrest at the Parvo Recovery center.
We are devastated and hope that people stop getting puppies for Christmas gifts. Run free, Dear Enzo. We are heartbroken for you. :(
